Drs L. Plusjé
Drs Plusjé studied medicine at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. After practising surgery and plastic surgery in several hospitals, he attended the training for dermatologist at the Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC) in Leiden under Professor Dr Bergman. Afterwards he became member of staff at the LUMC.
He has worked as a dermatologist at the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk since 2002. In addition he was connected to the Velthuis Kliniek (2001-2007) and afterwards to the Polikliniek de Blaak (2007-2014). During these 13 years he has specialised in cosmetic liposuction as well as liposculpture and the treatment of lipedema.
He took a training in liposculpture with Dr Fournier in Paris, with Professor Jeffrey Klein in Los Angeles USA and Dr Zaias in Germany. Since then he has followed various courses, workshops and conferences to keep his skills and knowledge up to date.
In 2015 Drs Plusjé founded the Centre for Lipedema at Beverwijk. The Centre is part of the Department of Dermatology at Beverwijk. Treatment is carried out at the Red Cross Hospital.
Purpose is to provide care for the very large group of females who suffer from lipedema. The Centre for Lipedema meets all required quality and safety demands of the Public Health Inspection as well as the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
