Compensation of the treatment

The Health Insurance has another view of this. The Insurance Companies and the overall College of Health Insurance Companies still think of lipedema as a result of overweight and advise patients to lose weight accordingly. Moreover it is said that it has never been proved that liposculpture is an effective and long lasting treatment. Therefore lipedema does not qualify for a compensation and the patient herself is responsible for all costs. Manual lymphatic drainage, ambulant compression and elastic stockings can be reimbursed. This can differ per insurance.
